Former Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn enjoyed an up and down spell at Ibrox, but his commitment to the cause was never in doubt.
Neither was the fact that there was undoubtedly a good player in there. Something he’s gone on to prove time and again over the last two seasons in the Championship.
Once again Waggy was on hand for new side Derby County. This time, it was an absolutely stunning chip to make it 1-1 in the 2-2 draw with Birmingham.
Martyn Waghorn takes this goal extremely well and with it shows Rangers what they’re missing with the striker.
Back when Pedro Caixinha took charge Waggy was shipped off to Ipswich town for relative peanuts. Within a year Waghorn was on his way to Derby County for a reported £8m.
It shows you just how highly current boss Frank Lampard rates the player.
Waghorn had a prolific first season at Ibrox scoring 28 goals when Rangers were in the Scottish Championship. The promotion year Waghorn struggled, as did the entire Rangers team.
The burly striker still managed to get 16 goals but was deemed surplus to requirements by Caixinha at the beginning of 17/18.
Is letting Waghorn go something that Rangers have lived to regret? Or was the player ever good enough to take us to where we want to be?

Either way, Waghorn is fondly remembered at Rangers by supporters. And he also has fond memories of his time at the club.
Waghorn was recently quoted in the Daily Record as saying playing for Rangers was “incredible”.
