Rangers have made efforts to reduce the pressure on the medical staff with Philippe Clement making changes behind the scenes.

When the manager first arrived, he spent most of his first season juggling an injury list in his squad that frequently sat in the double figures.

Just as things have started to improve for Rangers, Clement might have to do without a player who has been making an impact in recent weeks.

Rangers could be without injured Neraysho Kasanwirjo

Playing in no less than three different positions, Neraysho Kasanwirjo has looked reliable everywhere that he has been picked, but especially at right back.

Unfortunately, the Gers boss might not be able to call upon the Dutch Under-21 international after he had to be replaced with 10 minutes to go of their clash with England.

In an innocuous incident, the 22-year old’s left knee appears to buckle stretching for the ball, and Clement will face a nervous wait to find out the extent of the damage.

Kasanwirjo explains who gave him pre-debut advice

Kasanwirjo was signed on loan with an option to buy from Feyenoord and he has looked every inch the player who could replace the under pressure James Tavernier.

A player who the young defender praised after making his first start for Rangers:

“Before the game to me, he said ‘just enjoy the game.’ he quality you can play. He said to me don’t look at it like I replaced James Tavernier, just play for the team. And he said ‘just enjoy,’ praised Kasanwirjo.

“Yeah, I think [it helped] a lot. Everybody speak with me, speak with other guys. He’s the father of the team. So it’s good for the young boys to have somebody like this.

“Yeah, of course [I enjoy my role]. I think I played before this. Played a lot of games already, but now just competing with everybody on the team to make minutes and make the good impression.

“Yeah, I want to start every week, but it is up to the coach and up to me how I train to give the best impression of myself what I said before. And look day by day, how it is was going.”

Kasanwirjo’s biggest battle now isn’t disposing the skipper on a regular basis, it’s going to be getting himself fit for selection.
