Almost as much as we Rangers fans revel in defeating our closest rivals for ourselves, there’s also something to be said about gluttonously enjoying the tears of Celtic fans.
Despite watching their side luckily escape a Hampden bruising in the Betfred Cup Final, they genuinely believed they were going to skelp us on their own patch.
Call it arrogance, call it delusions, but for anyone not wearing green-tinted spectacles yesterday was always going to be a tough day for Neil Lennon’s side.

The thing is, I’d complain about their delusional arrogance and the calls of hammerings and canters pre-match, but it makes all of this just a little bit more enjoyable.
We’d never beat them on their patch again they said. We were supposed to be deid they said. Rangers no longer exist they said.
So why then, does all of this hurt them so much?
The mighty Sevco rolled into Parkhead and left with all three points in a landmark moment in not only this title race but in Scottish footballing history.
From Kent’s celebration to Morelos gesturing to Neil Lennon’s suitability for the role at Parkhead, nothing has been off the table as our rivals have struggled to come to terms with the result.
This isn’t about goading them either, Celtic are a good team and this league title race is far from over.
But yesterday has been so hard for our rivals to take because of how utterly convinced they’ve been that their domination of Scottish football was unassailable.
For 180 minutes of Old Firm football Rangers have battled the dodgiest refereeing around to dominate a Celtic side who now really appear to fear playing us.

We’ll enjoy the victory and hopefully we can continue to go from strength to strength as a team both at home and abroad.
But given Celtic’s arrogance over the years and going into this match, Rangers fans have every right to revel in the tears of our rivals after a potentially era-defining result on enemy soil.
