UEFA consider solution where Rangers could play again this season

UEFA are considering the possibility of “mini-tournaments” to settle the Champions League and Europa League competitions this season

Football’s governing body is set to meet with the 55 member associations on Tuesday as they look to make sense of the footballing shutdown caused by the global pandemic.

According to Sky Sports, this will include the possibility of playing mini-tournaments to settle this season’s competition.

The report comes after earlier reports suggested UEFA were determined to complete the league season and play the finals of both competitions come May.

Reports claimed that the governing body was willing to propose a “major revolution” [Mirror] to the tournament in order to do this.

At present, the Europa League set to conclude on 27th May in Gdansk and the Champions League final in Istanbul on 30th May.

UEFA put a halt on European competition last week but as per their original statement as it stands this is only for the round of fixtures set to take place this week [UEFA].
