A trio of young Rangers stars were involved as the Scotland U21s maintained their place at the top of their Euro U21 Championship qualifying group with a draw against the Czech Republic.

The young Scots held out for a 0-0 draw in the Czech Republic with Robby McCrorie, brother Ross and Glenn Middleton all featuring for the U21 side.

Former Rangers wonderkid and Chelsea starlet Billy Gilmour also played in the match whilst on-fire Gers youngster and Ayr United loanee Stephen Kelly was an unused substitute.

The result means Scotland are still unbeaten as they look to qualify for the European wide U21 competition which will take place in Hungary and Slovenia in 2021.

It’s the young Scotland side’s second 0-0 draw on the bounce after the U21s drew 0-0 with Lithuania on home soil last week.

It means Scotland now have eight points from a possible 12 following an impressive 2-1 win away in Croatia and a 2-0 win at home to San Marino.

Rangers have a host of young Scots-born talents in and around the U21 squad with the Ibrox side’s Academy providing much of the spine of the side.

The U21s will be hoping to do better than their senior compatriots who crashed out of group race for the European Championships following a 4-0 humbling by Russia.

Rangers fans have been winding up their Tartan Army counterparts too after resurfacing historic pro-Rangers tweets from Scotland new boy Lawrence Shankland.
