Transfer-listed Rangers-linked forward Siriki Dembele scored a superb goal for Peterborough United on Tuesday as his strong start to the season continues.
Back in December, Peterborough’s sporting director Barry Fry claimed that the Gers and Celtic had watched Dembele on several occasions [Peterborough Telegraph] and speculation has continued on and off since then.

Dembele has entered the final year of his contract and as per Peterborough’s policy, he has been transfer-listed.
Several English clubs including Fulham, West Brom and Nottingham Forest, have also been credited with interest, but the Peterborough Telegraph reported last month that he would favour a move to Scotland as he spent part of his childhood there.
Dembele missed out on the Posh’s 3-0 opening day defeat to Luton Town, but since his return to the fold, Darren Ferguson’s side’s fortunes have improved considerably.
The 24-year-old netted a dramatic 100th-minute winner against Derby County on Saturday afternoon and he helped his side draw 2-2 at home to Cardiff City on Tuesday evening.
Early in the second period, Dembele picked the ball up well inside his own half and set off on a counter-attack.
He linked up with Jonson Clarke-Harris, who had pulled out to the left, and after getting the ball back on the edge of the area, he took a touch before tucking away a cool finish (see match highlights here).

It was another example of how devastating the versatile forward can be and it’ll be interesting to see whether or not Rangers make a move for him late on in the window.
Steven Gerrard has made it clear that strengthening in midfield is his priority but the manager did refer to multiple transfer ‘targets’ in his press conference on Wednesday [RangersTV].
Dembele is capable of playing out wide and there is some space in that area of the squad after Jordan Jones was sold and Glenn Middleton, Josh McPake and Kai Kennedy all headed out on loan.
Jones has only been at Wigan for a fortnight but he’s already received rave reviews.
