There was good news on Tuesday for three Rangers fringe players, who have been called up for international duty.
Steven Davis, Gareth McAuley and Kyle Lafferty were named in Northern Ireland’s 27-man squad for the upcoming European Qualifiers against Estonia and Belarus.
Kilmarnock’s Jordan Jones, who will join the Gers in the summer, has also been included.

Big chance to impress

These two matches represent a great opportunity for all three players, none of whom have been regular starters for Steven Gerrard, of late.
107-cap veteran, Davis, will captain the side for the back-to-back home fixtures.
The 34-year-old has struggled to get up to speed at Ibrox since arriving in January. However, he has been a stand out performer for his country for over a decade.
He’s the man who makes Michael O’Neill’s side tick. Therefore, he’ll be given some creative license as Northern Ireland look to take maximum points from their first two matches in Belfast.

Gareth McAuley hasn’t featured for Rangers, since the 3-1 win over Cowdenbeath in January. He’s also a vastly experienced international performer, but will need to overcome
a hamstring injury if he is going to feature.
Finally, Kyle Lafferty will be hope to start banging them in again for his country. The striker finished as top scorer during qualifying for Euro 2016, with seven.

However, his place in the side is no longer guaranteed.
Burton Albion’s Liam Boyce led the line during the last international break, while Sunderland’s Will Grigg is in form and returns to the squad.
