Three potential Rangers strikers who would add real competition up front

It appears Rangers could be on the look out for a new striker. With Rangers strikers Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty both being ruled out of Sunday’s tie with Aberdeen, it gives Steven Gerrard a real headache up front.

One he’ll want to avoid in future.

There’s been much talk about who’s going to lead the line tomorrow. Had things went to plan this season, it should’ve been Umar Sadiq.

Even if Gerrard says he’s given him something to think about, it does look like the big man’s days are numbered. Who knows, maybe Gerrard will surprise us and go with the lanky Nigerian against the Dons.

In the meantime, here’s three potential Rangers strikers who could not only plug the gap but who would also provide real competition up front.

Dominic Solanke

Let’s get this one out the way. The Liverpool youngster has been perpetually linked with the club since Steven Gerrard joined and as of yet nothing has ever materialised. We’re all more than familiar with the talent and versatility the youngster offers in the final third by now. The rumours will be back come January.

Florian Kamberi

The former Swiss U21 international presents a really interesting option for Rangers. He’s a very good player. Young, hungry, technical, he is also a prolific scorer. The Hibs striker might not be someone we move for in January but he’s a player to keep your eye on. Rangers could certainly do worse.

Steven Naismith

Don’t shoot me. The support is split on the striker, but it can’t be denied he’s on exceptional form for Hearts. We all know he’d jump at the chance to rejoin the club, but can we forgive him for that press conference? The move represents a risk but if Gerrard decided it was right, it’s a call we’d need to trust.
