Rangers frontline hasn’t exactly been shy of goals this season. Between a rampant Alfredo Morelos and deputising Kyle Lafferty, the two strikers have amassed 17 goals already.
But what happens when our two leading men are consigned to the stands like in the upcoming semi final against Aberdeen? Even if Umar Sadiq has given Gerrard something to think about, it doesn’t look like he’ll make the grade here.
With a long season ahead, Rangers need striking cover if they’re to challenge on every front. But why look further afield, if the answer could be closer to home? Maybe at the other end of the M8?

Florian Kamberi offers pace, technical ability and goals
One player Rangers could look at is Hibs striker Florian Kamberi.
Still only 23, Swiss Kamberi joined the Easter Road club from Grasshoppers for an undisclosed fee in the Summer following a successful initial loan. He’s been a revelation since he walked through door.
He’s scored 17 in 27 between this season and the last. Amongst that there have been two hat-tricks – against Hamilton in April and NSÍ Runavík in Europa League qualifying this year.

He’s hit four in six in the league this season and laid on three assists. He has the best minutes per goals ratio on the BBC’s top scorer list. In total, he’s scored 8 in 13 this season.
Kamberi can produce in big games too. The striker scored at Parkhead on Saturday and also netted in the 5-5 draw with Rangers at the end of last season.
Would Hibs be willing to sell?
Former Swiss U21 striker Florian Kamberi looks like a real handful up front. He’s direct, pacey, technical and prolific in front of goal.
But would Hibs be willing to sell him to Rangers? And would he be willing to play second fiddle to Alfredo Morelos?
Would Hibs also try hold us to ransom for his services?

It might be a ways away from actually happening, but keep your eye on Kamberi’s progress. If he continues to impress, even Steven Gerrard might be tempted to make an enquiry.
He’d be a pretty solid addition to a Rangers frontline growing in confidence.
