These Rangers fans not buying Alfredo Morelos yellow card claims

The SFA have confirmed that Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos received a third yellow card for his “game-over” gesture at the end of Rangers’ 2-1 Old Firm win over Celtic at Parkhead.

The Colombian striker was sent off for a second yellow card at the end of the match and the SFA are now claiming he got the third for signalling to the Celtic support on the way off the pitch.

The only thing is, it’s a whole 19 days on from when the match actually happened, and we’ve been forced to sit through a media circus in the meantime.

Why, if Morelos did receive the card, were the public not notified at the time?

Rangers were adamant the striker didn’t mean the “game-over” gesture as the “throat-slitting” death-threat one it was being positioned as by some members of the press.

Over the last few weeks we’ve seen a desperate campaign waged against Alfredo Morelos in some last gasp attempt to get the striker banned and dent Rangers title campaign.

Rangers fans have watched on from the side-lines as the striker has been subjected to nonsense stories of psychological analysis and cries of “waster”.

For many supporters, the SFA have patched up the entire case in an attempt to appease bloodthirsty rivals by claiming he was yellow-carded so therefore cannot receive any retrospective punishment.

The club’s fans have been raising suspicion over the decision on Twitter:

The situation surrounding Alfredo Morelos isn’t the only thing to come out of the SFA this week either.

Rangers, Hibs, Tom Culshaw, Michael Beale and Hibs coach John Potter are all facing SFA charges [SFA] for events which happened in December.
