If Alfredo Morelos hitting a double against Hearts to send Rangers to the Betfred Cup Final didn’t have the Ibrox legions buzzing, Steven Gerrard’s transfer update on the striker certainly did.
The Rangers boss was adamant post-match that Morelos won’t be going anywhere in January [BT Sport] after his second double in as many games.
There’s a growing feeling that when Morelos does leave Ibrox, he’ll do so for a record fee. But fans are just basking in the notion that the Colombian will be here until at least May.

The Colombian striker is in the form of his life and at 23, has a few more levels to take his game yet.
A ferocious talent, the striker himself hinted towards his future being at Ibrox when he hit his second goal against Ross County, pointing to the badge and the ground.
It’s hard to remember a player in the modern era, and certainly in the last eight years, who is as adored as Alfredo Morelos is right now by the Rangers support.

Whilst there’s a general acceptance that the wee man – who is contracted until 2023 – won’t be here forever, fans want to see him lift some silverware before he moves on.
With 20 goals by Guy Fawkes night and every chance he’ll hit close to 30 by Christmas, Morelos is central to what we’re trying to achieve this season.
