The admin of the official Rangers Twitter account has sarcastically taken aim at one of the club’s own fans for berating the Ibrox side’s starting lineup.

The fan in question complained at the Gers starting XI when it was announced before Steven Gerrard’s side kicked off against Motherwell.

Twitter use @thedeathtramps72 responded to a post containing the lineup for the trip to Fir Park by saying “God that’s awful”.

Rangers had started the match with youngster Calvin Bassey making his debut whilst Jordan Jones was handed a first Gers start in over a year.

Both players shone in a 5-1 victory over Motherwell as Rangers flexed the strength in depth now readily available to the club after a strong transfer window.

Jordan Jones scored with a fine finish between two James Tavernier penalties to have the Ibrox side in 3-0 by halftime.

Amongst the goals was Swiss summer signing Cedric Itten who earned the applause of fans after he got off the mark for Rangers with a double in the second half of the tie.

As a result, the Rangers Twitter team went back to find the post and sarcastically comment, “it’s not too late to go back and delete this”.

The comeback from the Rangers Twitter account drew a positive reaction from the Ibrox support who saluted the club’s media team.
