Rangers striker Cedric Itten netted an impressive double to get himself off the mark for the Gers as Steven Gerrard’s side dumped Motherwell 5-1.
The Gers were very impressive throughout as a James Tavernier penalty double sandwiched a superb Jordan Jones finish to have the Ibrox side leading 3-0 at Fir Park at the break.

But it was £2.5m Swiss international summer signing Cedric Itten who would steal the second-half show, his double rounding off the Rangers scoring before George Edmundson unfortunately ricocheted the ball into the back of the net.
Itten, 23, opened his Rangers account with a superbly taken half volley, the former St. Gallen man setting himself up with a soft touch and patiently sizing up the drop of the ball before unleashing a superb strike past Well keeper Trevor Carson.
The powerful striker’s second came in true penalty box poacher fashion, the forward tapping in a loose ball after a scramble from a corner to double his Gers tally.
It was an impressive cameo showing and the goals will come as a considerable relief to the big striker who’d at times looked over eager in his limited appearances before this breakthrough v the Steelmen.
Rangers fans will be hoping this will be the first of many in Rangers blue for the striker who is very highly rated in his homeland.
Many of the Ibrox club’s fans have been lavishing the big forward with praise after he opened his Ibrox scoring account:

Cedric Itten joined Rangers off the back of a superb season in Switzerland with FC St. Gallen where the forward’s 19 goal Swiss Super League goals fired the club to an impressive 2nd place finish.
