Rangers are gearing up for an assault on the Scottish Premiership title next year as the business end of the season kicks off in early 2020.

The club’s players will get the chance of a break in January with the Rangers side set to train at a world-class sports resort in Dubai [Rangers] as they prepare for a potentially era-defining few months.

With an Old Firm derby still to come this year and the prospect of at least another two in 2020, regardless of what happens this weekend there is still all to play for.

Here are the three players we think will be central to the Ibrox club’s title ambitions.

Allan McGregor

Arguably the best signing of Steven Gerrard’s tenure, McGregor’s goalkeeping ability has been Rangers’ saviour on plenty of occasions whilst his authoritative presence between the sticks has been a welcome addition to a squad lacking leadership.

A leader on and off the pitch, McGregor is a vital part of the club’s league charge and beyond just his ability as a goalkeeper, he’s been there and done it. Three times.

Ryan Jack

A player who has become more and more important as the season has progressed, Ryan Jack was described as being the Ibrox club’s “player of the season” so far by Gers boss Steven Gerrard.

A composed, driving force in the Rangers midfield, the centre mid’s energetic and commanding performances are the fulcrum of Steven Gerrard’s side.

If Rangers are to win the title this season, Jacko will have played one of the most important roles of all.

Alfredo Morelos

As ever, Alfredo Morelos will be the main man for Rangers if we’re to mount a proper assault on the championship and he is also the main man on this list.

His 27 goals this season are a marker of just how far the Colombian has come as a footballer considering he scored 30 by the end of the campaign last season.

Is there any player in that Rangers squad that you want to see with their hands around that trophy more than El Bufalo?
