Rangers will travel to Dubai in January 2020 for this season’s warm-weather training camp, the club has confirmed.
There was an unofficial suggestion from club insider Four Lads Had a Dream that Rangers would be choosing Dubai over Portugal this season, alongside a glamour friendly against European allies Hamburg [Four Lads].
Whilst the statement from Rangers says details of a friendly will be “provided in due course”, the club confirms the facility the club will be training at during the winter break.
Rangers will take full advantage of the state-of-the-art Nad al Sheba Sports Complex between January 6th and January 12th as the club look to recuperate and reach full fitness during the break.
The facility has been used by the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Juventus and AC Milan and has been described as an “elite training environment”.
The decision to fly the squad to Dubai for the match is a considerable step-up from last season’s warm weather camp in Portugal.
This facility is clearly fondly desired by Rangers boss Steven Gerrard and will provide the perfect location for the Ibrox club to prepare for the second half of the season.
It sounds like the ideal facility and supporters will now await official confirmation about any friendly at the end of the training camp.
