Rangers could face European ally Hamburger SV (HSV) in a winter glamour friendly, according to club insider Four Lads Had a Dream.
According to the reliable blogger, European giants and former European Cup winners HSV could face off against Rangers at a winter training camp in Dubai.
Whilst nothing official has been confirmed yet – about the training camp or the friendly – it’s an exciting prospect for fans of both clubs.
Rangers share a historic rivalry with Hamburg which stretches back to Glaswegian workers heading to the Port City in the 1970s.
A group of Rangers fans set up a Hamburg Rangers Supporters Club and thus Hamburg supporters came to know Rangers fans and vice-versa.
This was then intensified when Jorg Albertz – a club legend for both sides – joined the ranks at Ibrox.
It’s a friendship which still exists to this day with the German club’s supporters being incredibly welcoming of anyone who makes the trip across to see them.
The two clubs themselves even recognised the friendship recently when HSV tweeted Rangers to celebrate the historic link between the two clubs.

As for the winter training camp, this would make an interesting change for Rangers after spending last season at a camp in the Algarve, Portugal.
For both sets of supporters, a friendly between the two clubs would be pretty special no matter where it was held.
