As Rangers head into the second half of the season it’s a time to reflect on the successes of the campaign so far as the Gers make impressive tracks in the Scottish Premiership.
The Gers have set the foundations for a hugely successful season and now the test will be – for the first time in three attempts – to successfully retain their form post Christmas.

There have been several players who’ve been essential to Rangers’ success so far this season but we’ve picked out three in particular who need signed down on longer term deals.
Connor Goldson
Rangers’ rock and commander in chief, Connor Goldson’s contract is set to expire in 2022 and his exit a daunting one for a Gers side so utterly reliant on the centre-half.
Goldson has played every minute of every match for the side this season, helping keep over 20 clean sheets and contributing with a rake of goals and moments in the opposition box.
Recently priced as Rangers’ most valuable asset at £18m, if Rangers let him enter the final year of his contract there’s a risk he leaves for nothing.

James Tavernier
Another who is 18 months away from leaving Ibrox for nothing should the club let his current deal expire by 2022.
Rangers’ captain fantastic has taken his game to new heights this season and consistently delivers for a vibrant Gers side this season.
Tavernier is the club’s – and the Scottish Premiership’s – top goalscorer, the Ibrox captain and the personification of Rangers’ swashbuckling style.
Oh, and he’s a right-back.

Glen Kamara
A predictable edition to the list given Steven Gerrard has repeatedly called on the Rangers board to sign the midfielder to a longer contract, Kamara has been a stand-out in big games this season.
An intelligent pivot through which much of the tone of this Rangers side is set, Kamara is a dogged yet deliberate presence in the midfield and has an engine to match.
A quality player who always seems to find space and who can turn on a sixpence, with over 13 clubs reportedly linked to the midfielder [TEAMtalk] Rangers must act quick to protect a player who famously cost £50k.
