The three most important Rangers players on Old Firm day

Old Firm day is upon us once again as Steven Gerrard welcomes Celtic to Ibrox for the first time as Rangers Manager.

At the moment Rangers are feeling the pressure of some poor festive form. Celtic on the other hand have steadied the ship and go into this one clear favourites.

But as Rangers and Celtic fans know, anything can happen on Old Firm day. Rangers might need a result to stay in the title race, and with 50,000 Bears cheering them on it promises to be a ferocious atmosphere.

Here’s the three players who’ll need to be on the top of their game for the Gers to get a result on Old Firm day.

Allan McGregor

The Rangers goalie has been on fine form this season and continues to blow Celtic rival Craig Gordon out of the water internationally. He will need to be on the top of his game because we’re sure he’ll be tested tomorrow. Can be a matchwinner.

James Tavernier

The Rangers captain comes in for some undue stick in my eyes, but he must lead by example tomorrow. Never scared to be an option, Tav is one of our best outfield players and he must get his crosses right when he gets the chance.

Alfredo Morelos

You get the feeling that if we’re to win this one, Alfredo will break his Old Firm hoodoo. He’s on electric form and relishing the responsibility in this Rangers side. Morelos is arguably the key man for Rangers tomorrow. Even if there is talk of him leaving in January.
