With a painful season over, Rangers fans can now fully focus on who the next manager might be.
There is the small matter of the 49ers Enterprises takeover to get excited about too and what could be a busy summer in terms of the players who leave and arrive to make up a new Rangers squad.
In Kevin Thelwell as sporting director and Gretar Steinsson, the 49ers technical director, Rangers have two individuals who know and understand football.
Both played at a high level and have worked in several roles after their playing careers ended.
Which makes the rumoured short-list of Rangers manager candidates all the more surprising.

Rangers have five name manager shortlist
Thelwell has spoken about the need for Rangers to have a philosophy, a one club approach that will benefit the academy and ability to succession plan.
Not only does this make it easier for recruitment, it also reduces injuries caused by managers having different tactics and training intensity.
Lurching from one rebuild to another isn’t the way to build stability or sustained success.
According to Talksport, Rangers are considering Steven Gerrard, Davide Ancelotti, Russell Martin, Rob Edwards and Ryan Mason, the Spurs assistant manager.
A list that simply doesn’t make sense.
Why doesn’t manager shortlist make sense?
With Thelwell as sporting director, there is no logic to him overseeing a list that has such a wide range of experience.
Not only this, but there are barely two of them who have anything in common.
Gerrard isn’t a “coach”, he is a manager, whilst Ancelotti has been Real Madrid’s lead on the training ground over the last few seasons.
Martin has a front-foot, attacking style of play that relies on building possession from the back whilst Rob Edwards has had one good season with Luton before leaving in January this year.
There is no link between the five to suggest that they fit a philosophy.
If Martin had been named alongside others like Ralph Hasenhuttl and Kevin Muscat, then it would have made sense stylistically.
This just looks like guesswork.
