What bluenoses wouldn’t have given to see Steven Gerrard don the blue shirt of Rangers and rasp one right into the top corner of the Ibrox net.

And whilst he might’ve hung up his boots a short time ago, the football legend proved he still had it today.

Stevie G donned his boots and took to Ibrox Park to play out a 4-4 draw with Viewfield Rovers. He even got a goal and assist on a beautiful sunny day in Glasgow. He revealed this in a post on Instagram.

The former England captain knows exactly where the back of the net is. Just goes to show you, you never really lose it.

It’s not the first time Gerrard has turned out for a game of elevens recently either. The Anfield legend played in a special Legends Match with AC Milan Glorie back in March.

And if playing in front of a packed Anfield wasn’t enough, he even scored a last-minute winner too.

What a player Steven Gerrard was in his day. The midfielder played over 700 games across 17 seasons at Liverpool, scoring 186 times.

He also captained his country at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups, making 114 caps for his country. A true legend of the game, the fact he turned out at Ibrox with Viewfield Rovers just shows he’s never lost touch.

It’s humble and classy, and it looks very much like everyone enjoyed their day.
