Rangers boss Steven Gerrard’s future might have been the subject of much debate with newspapers, supporters and even his former managers, but for the Liverpool legend, it’s all talk.
The Gers gaffer has routinely reiterated his commitment to Rangers despite links to clubs down south and talk of him replacing Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
Do these rather innocuous comments Gerrard made at an Academy training session back up his insistence that he wants to be at Ibrox for a very long time?
High-fiving the youngsters and even jokingly inviting them to play Hearts this weekend, Steven Gerrard asked the youngsters “you going to play for me in a few years? Definitely?”
Granted, it’s just the Gers gaffer having fun with some kids, but it shows the long-term mentality Gerrard has for his role at Ibrox.
Whether or not the opportunity to replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool comes – which the German himself believes it should [Four Four Two] – Gerrard’s firmly focused on achieving at Rangers.
It’s hard to imagine any other job appealing to the Gers gaffer at this moment in time.
The likes of Derby County [Times] and Newcastle United [Northern Echo] were linked to his services in the summer, but none of this appeared to even make Gerrard flinch.

With Klopp’s contract expiring in 2022, Steven Gerrard may be presented with a big decision to make on his future then.
But until then, and potentially after, there’s little doubting the legendary Scouser’s commitment to revolutionising Rangers from top to bottom.
