After the January transfer window slammed shut last night, today seems a good time to take stock of what Rangers achieved during the window.
It had looked to be a quiet Deadline Day, but late in the evening, Glen Kamara joined from Dundee.

Earlier in the window, there were four other signings and a pre-contract agreement.
Steven Davis and
Kilmarnock’s Jordan Jones signed a pre-contract agreement and will join in the summer.

Which is the stand out?
For me, it’s Steven Davis. The guy just oozes quality.
He has shown glimpses of that in his couple of appearances to date, but it will take time for him to get fully up to speed.
After all, he only started one Premier League match during the first half of the season.
When he hits his groove, it should be transformative for Gerrard’s side.

Defoe will get goals if provided with good service, but Davis is the man who can dictate entire games for the Gers.
Whether it’s dropping deep to receive from the centre-backs and distribute, or pushing forward to deliver a killer final pass – he can do it all.
You don’t rack up 306 Premier League appearances and 107 international caps without being a class act.
If Rangers are to mount a real challenge at the back end of the season, the Northern Ireland skipper is the key man.
