A Turkish sporting director has claimed that Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is wanted by one of the nation’s giants with their current manager teetering on the edge of a sacking.
Ozan Zeybek – who according to Fanatik is a leading sporting director in Turkey who has worked with numerous Super Lig clubs – believes Fenerbahce “want” Gerrard should they part ways with current manager Erol Bulut.

Zeybek believes that Bulut could be sacked if he does not take a positive result from Fenerbahce’s next match against Fatih Karagümrük, despite being 3rd in the Super Lig on goal difference, level on points with Galatasaray and Besiktas above them.
“If there is no good result from the Karagümrük match, Fenerbahçe will part ways with Erol Bulut,” said Zeybek on Radyospor, via Fanatik.
“Currently, the management is not holding a meeting with the thought of unethical, but the managers want to appoint Steven Gerrard.
“He’s going to the championship with Glasgow Rangers right now, which would be hard to bring in.”
Zeybek claims this is according to “information” he has acquired and Zeybek also believes this will be Bulut’s last match in charge of the Istanbul giants.

“There is an uneasiness in the team,” said Zeybek.
“No football player feels the urge to play. The information I have acquired is in this direction.
“I have no problem with Erol Bulut; But unfortunately, this is where Erol Bulut and Fenerbahçe reached; I think the Karagümrük match will be the last match of Bulut.”
Rangers manager Gerrard has probably already endeared himself to the Fenerbahce fans after the Gers beat their arch-rivals Galatasaray 2-1 to reach the Europa League group stages.

Gerrard was even involved in a minor flashpoint with Gala’s legendary manager Fatih Terim on the touchlines as tempers frayed in the tight clash.
The Rangers manager has consistently reiterated his commitment to Ibrox but whilst Fenerbahce might not temp him, could a return to his first love break Rangers hearts sooner than expected?
