The official SPFL Twitter account has raved about former Rangers midfielder Jamie Barjonas for a stunning assist he produced at the weekend.
Barjonas joined the Rangers soccer schools aged eight and made his way up through the ranks before making nine senior appearances.

He wasn’t able to earn further opportunities at first-team level following the arrival of Steven Gerrard, though, and was eventually released by the club earlier this summer.
The 22-year-old then shocked supporters by quickly signing for Kelty Hearts on a one-year deal.
Given that Kelty had only just been promoted to SPFL League Two, it was a big step down for the former Scotland youth international.
He later explained that the presence of former Gers B team coach Kevin Thomson was a major factor in his decision to move to New Central Park, as was a desire to play week in week out.
That’s something he’s certainly managed so far, making six appearances already this season in an attacking midfield role and notching four assists.
The most recent of those came in Kelty’s comfortable 3-1 win at Stirling Albion on Saturday afternoon, when he set up Joe Cardle in the 40th minute for the visitors’ second goal.

After receiving the ball close to the halfway line, Barjonas took a touch and scanned for runs before clipping an inch-perfect ball over the left-sided centre-back and onto Cardle’s chest, with the former Partick Thistle star then lifting a finish over the keeper despite a relatively heavy first touch.
It was an impressive moment of quality in a fourth tier match, with one of the commentators labelling it one of the best passes he’d ever seen at Forthbank.
The SPFL account tweeted the footage on Monday and aptly captioned it ’99 vision’ and tagged Barjonas before adding a shades emoji.
Judging by his response, the former Gers midfielder enjoyed the pass too.

Barjonas did receive some criticism for his drop down the divisions, a move some thought suggested a lack of ambition.
However, importantly, he looks to be back enjoying his football again after several seasons of disruption and unsuccessful loan moves and it would be no surprise to see him move on to bigger things after a productive season at Kelty.
Meanwhile, a player who was sold by the Gers in 2020 scored a brilliant goal at the weekend for a team dominating an overseas league.
