Rangers are on the hunt for greater strength in depth across the forward line, with Kilmarnock’s Greg Stewart an interesting proposition.
Whilst there’s no suggestion Rangers are in for the striker, he would add versatility and goals to Gerrard’s squad.
Signing Stewart would also enrage rivals Kilmarnock. Stewart spent the first half of the season on loan at Rugby Park but was recalled by Championship side Birmingham this month.

That lead to a Killie fan launching a crowdfunding appeal to raise money to sign the striker. After we snapped up Jordan Jones on a pre-contract, this might enrage Kilmarnock even further. And their supporters.
Reportedly interesting Aberdeen, the striker is out of contract in the Summer but
Stewart has been superb in the Scottish Premiership during the first half of the season. The 28-year-old racked up eight goals and seven assists in 16 appearances for Killie by January.
One of those goals came at Ibrox back in October.

The former Dundee striker can play across the frontline and seemed to be settling into a rhythm in Ayrshire. He’s a creative and competent marksman, and would certainly provide an option for Steven Gerrard.
Stewart moved to St. Andrews for £400k three years ago but hasn’t played competitively for Birmingham since April 2017.
If Rangers were interested in signing the striker, the move would be made much easier given the Scotsman is also a bluenose.
But is he good enough to make the grade at Ibrox?
