Stirling-born forward Greg Stewart, was on loan at Kilmarnock during the first half of the season.

He made quite an impression at Rugby Park, too.

His eight goals and six assists in sixteen appearances, mean he was directly involved in almost a goal a game in the SPL.

According to Sky Sources, the 28-year-old is on his way back to parent club, Birmingham City.

They have exercised their right to recall Stewart, but as his contract is up at the end of the season, he could still leave St Andrews before the window closes.

While there is no suggestion that he could move to Rangers, a video has surfaced on Twitter which implies he is a fan of the club.

When asked on Sky Sports programme ‘SPFL Ballers’, to name his favourite player, he replied: “Brian Laudrup.”

Now, even if you weren’t necessarily a Rangers fan, that would be a reasonable answer.

The legendary Dane played 116 times for the Gers in the league, scoring 33 goals.

However, it appears there’s more to Stewart’s admiration than recognition of a good player.

“That shows your colours then doesn’t it?” probed the interviewer.

Stewart looked a little sheepish, but couldn’t help blurt out “a little bit” in response.

Needless to say, Rangers fans absolutely loved it.

If Stewart isn’t snapped up this window, should Rangers move for him?

He had a relatively modest start to his career, but with nearly a decade of senior football under his belt, he appears to be coming into his own.

Especially on a free, this potential Blue nose could well be a good option come the summer months.
