The SFA have confirmed the referee for Sunday afternoon’s Premiership fixture between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox [Scottishfa.co.uk].
In a surprise move, Nick Walsh will take charge of his first Old Firm.

Experienced refs such as Bobby Madden and Willie Collum are often chosen to handle derby day in Glasgow, but while Collum has been selected as the fourth official, a fresh face will be in charge of the action.
30-year-old Walsh has taken charge of five previous Rangers matches this season, with Steven Gerrard’s side winning four and drawing the other at Livingston back in August.
He’s only refereed three Celtic games to date this campaign, with the Hoops winning two and drawing the other.
The absence of fans and the fact that the league title has already been decided ensures that it’ll be as tame an introduction to the Old Firm as a whistler could hope for.

Yet, it’s still likely to be a feisty affair, with Rangers looking to bounce back from their shock Scottish Cup exit and to maintain their remarkable unbeaten Premiership record, while Celtic will be desperate to salvage some pride from what has been a dreadful season.
The Hoops have gone trophyless and the Gers have won three of the four Old Firms, with the other ending in a 1-1 draw at Celtic Park last month.
In other news, Rangers have reportedly registered interest in a Premier League player.
