Ex-Celtic striker and Sky Sports pundit Andy Walker has named nine Rangers players in his Team of the Season – despite ongoing complaints over his coverage from fans.

Gers fans have routinely criticised both Andy Walker and Ian Crocker for their coverage of Rangers this season as the club romped to a legendary 55th title.

Being a former Celtic star Walker is regarded aS excitable amid a Gers stumble – and the opposite when the club is winning – whilst Crocker was criticised for his coverage of Alfredo Morelos in particular.

The commentator is viewed by many Gers fans as fuelling the fire around the Colombian which sees incidents generally blown out of proportion and punishment disproportionately handed out to the forward.

Nonetheless Sky Sports pundit Andy Walker has given his two cents on which players make up the Scottish Premiership team of the season.

Perhaps unsurprisingly the Ibrox side dominant with four of the back five being Gers players, two midfielders coming from Govan, and only one Gers forward making his front three.

Walker XI: McGregor, Tavernier, Goldson, Ajer, Barisic, Aribo, Davis, Turnbull, Kent, Edouard, Nisbet

Walker’s picks were put up against ex-Rangers striker Boyd who named no fewer than nine Rangers players in the XI.

The former Ibrox poacher’s entire defence and midfield was made up of Rangers stars whilst he too opted to only include one Ibrox forward in his eleven.

The choices may well cause contention amongst some supporters as both pundits appear to keep club loyalties at heart.
