Scotty Arfield completed the scoring today in the 3-0 win at Livingston to make it three goals in two games.
The Canadian captain looks like he’s really beginning to settle into the side. He’s mobile, creative and above all else, becoming a real influence on games.
He’s one of the first names on the team sheet at the moment.

There have been calls to sign a dynamic, creative goalscoring midfielder, but is Scotty Arfield already becoming that for this team?
Arfield’s role in this team is evolving
Steven Gerrard has also said that there will be “little or no business” in the January window.
To some this may be disappointing. To Arfield it might open up new possibilities.
He now has six in 22 matches, doubling his tally over the course of the last two games. Previously, Arfield acted as a pivot for Gerrard’s side, digging and chopping little first time passes around during the transition from defence to attack.

But now, he’s also getting into the final third and into the box. His late runs offer a real option for Rangers rapidly developing forward line to pick out.
And if he keeps it up Scotty Arfield can be the answer to Rangers’ creative midfield issues.
