Ryan Kent is a free agent and Philippe Clement has already been asked the question about a potential Rangers exit.

The winger barely featured for the Turkish giants in just over a year at the club and had been properly frozen out this season, appearing just once in a shock inclusion in a Champions League qualifier.

Kent was expected to leave the club in the summer but turned down a whopping 21 opportunities to move on, which infuriated manager Jose Mourinho according to LiderHaber.

The 27-year-old has now left Fener with his contract ripped up after a mutual agreement and Rangers fans responded with some floating the unthinkable.

Why ex Rangers star Ryan Kent left Fenerbahce

The Daily Mail has now lifted the lid on the reasons behind the parting of the ways.

Kent had been forced to train alone at the club and was preparing to take his case to Court of Arbitration for Sport. Clubs were recently warned about FIFA guidance from Article 14 (2) which states making a playe train on their own could amount to ‘abusive conduct’.

The club reportedly got wind the player was preparing to go to court and so decided to allow him to leave.

Kent has previously been linked to the likes of Leeds United, Ipswich Town and Ajax as well as a return to Ibrox.

What Philippe Clement said about a Rangers return for Ryan Kent

Clement refused to be drawn on any Gers swoop for Kent now that he is a free agent, but he certainly didn’t rule it out.

The Belgian also revealed previous talks with the ex-Liverpool man when he was in charge at Club Brugge, with Kent ultimately snubbing him and choosing Rangers.

He said: “I’ve said already in this past year that I don’t go into rumours because then it never stops. So I’m not going to go into rumours.

But of course, I know the player, and I’ve known him a long time, because the moment he went to Rangers, I was in talks with him to get him to (Club) Brugge.

“But there was a better deal, I think, in Rangers, in that way, so he chose for that. So, I’ve known him a long time, but I’m not going into rumours about bringing players on.”
