Ryan Kent ended 16 months of hell last night as he mutually terminated his Fenerbahce contract.

The winger managed just 18 appearances for the club in that time and was forced to settle for most of his outings as cameos from the bench.

Just the one goal and two assists were not enough to force him into the starting XI set-up under Ismail Kartal before he as the manager departed.

And after Jose Mourinho took over at the helm, Kent’s minutes on the pitch dwindled further before the Portuguese ultimately allowed him to rip up his contract, as confirmed late last night.

The playmaker, 27, previously had a number of clubs chasing his signature back in January while others waited until the summer to register their interest.

A move to Lazio broke down after talks collapsed late in the day as it looked like the wide man was poised to make the move to Serie A to join the Eagles.

Dinamo Zagreb were also in close conversation with the former Liverpool attacker’s representatives about a loan switch.

And it remains to be seen whether or not they will return for him.

But now Rangers fans have been reacting to the news their former player was binned by Fenerbahce after the decision was announced on the club’s social media accounts last night.

Some could hardly hide their surprise at the decision.

But others used their platform to urge the winger to make the unthinkable move back to Ibrox after he allowed his contract to run down in 2023 and moved on a free.

Some Rangers fans are calling on the club to bring Kent in short-term

One fan shared a clip of his Light Blues best bits and hinted that he fancied having him back. The punter wrote: “Ryan Kent, love me again.”

Another commented: “Ryan Kent until the end of the season,” as another said: “Would definitely take back…like or not, he’s the best winger we’ve had in past 10 years and was pivotal to 55 league win and europa league run”.

A fourth added: “Nils Koppen… one year deal, he walks into this team and that’s a fact.”
