Ryan Jack has the potential to be the best all-round midfielder in Scotland

In recent weeks, one player has shown time and again how valuable he can be to this Rangers side. Ryan Jack.

Indeed, there are fewer players who have developed as rapidly or as suddenly in a Rangers shirt. Over the last few weeks he has completely lifted his game. Against Rapid Vienna, Jack stood up and stood out. Against Hibs last night, he was everywhere.

It was arguably his most mobile, direct and driving performance in a Rangers shirt. Everything from rallying the side forward to that neat interception in our box was sublime.

He’s fast becoming one of our best players.

That’s how much Ryan Jack has came on to his game in the last few weeks. It seems the midfielder just needed a run and time to settle into the side after a tumultuous time with injuries and suspensions since he joined last year. Since he’s had that, he’s been able to improve his game.

He retains the ball superbly, he moves on it very well and he rarely loses it. More so than ever, there’s a command and presence to his game we haven’t seen enough of. When Jack’s playing, you know he’s playing.

He’s a supremely well-rounded midfielder, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him improve further. All I want from him now is goals.

If he adds a long range shot that the Gaffer would be proud of we’ve not just got a top player.

We might have the best all-round midfielder in the country.
