Livingston assistant manager Marvin Bartley has shut down a Celtic fan on Twitter for suggesting the Scottish Premiership side have a bias towards Rangers.
The 36-year-old former Hibs defender is the number 2 to likeable Lions manager David Martindale and was responding to a fan amid rumbling conspiracies concerning the coach.

It’s not like Celtic fans to cook up hair-brained conspiracies and try and pass them off as unarguable truths but David Martindale has found himself in the firing line as of late.
After the Scottish Premiership opening weekend defeat to Rangers, Livingston boss Martindale was accused of bias after referring to James Tavernier as “Tav” and Scott Arfield as “wee Scotty” in his post-match interview.
Martindale has since treated the claims with the contempt they deserve – hilariously by appearing on a Rangers fan podcast – and it’s clearly something that is raising chuckles at Livingston.
Marvin Bartley accused of Rangers bias
Even Martin Bartley isn’t safe from this madness as one fan took aim at the Lions assistant after he leapt to the defence of Antonio Colak.
Bartley is also a prominent Clyde One Superscoreboard pundit when he isn’t at Livingston and the likeable former centre-back is clearly trying to give his two cents on the game north of the border.
This was after several had written Colak off in the early part of his Rangers career, with Bartley lamenting those who gave the striker “one game”.
An angry Celtic supporter, sorry, “football fan” then showed a complete lack of self awareness and made himself look rather silly by Sevcoing into the void on a public social media platform.
This was only for Marvin Bartley – following the lead of Davie Martindale – to treat this nonsense with the contempt it deserves and urge everyone not to “be like Bob” and pointing to a story where he defended a Celtic player.
Marvin Bartley might only have been in Scotland for seven years, but we’re sure he’s already well aware of the conspiratorial tendencies within the Celtic support.
Meanwhile, Rangers fans are wondering if the club should’ve had a penalty in the 2-2 Champions League draw with PSV Eindhoven.
