Reported Umaro Balde deal could prove to be massive for Rangers

Rangers look in pole position to sign exciting Portuguese youngster Umaro Balde after his Sporting Lisbon contract expired.
Indeed, the player may well have already signed. Balde was pictured leaving the Hummel Training Centre yesterday.
A picture is also doing the rounds of Balde and what looks like his representative shaking hands in front of a Rangers badge.

The 16-year-old winger is very highly rated in his homeland. Portugal are famous for producing wide players, and if Balde is a touch on some of their most exceptional ones Rangers will be on to a winner.
A tricky, direct winger with an eye for goal, Balde’s signing could prove to be one of the best in Rangers’ recent history – if the player can fulfil his potential.
Whilst he might have some way to go before breaks into the first team, there’s no doubt the player signs with assurances there is a pathway to it.
The player is also visibly excited about coming to Ibrox. That’s a credit to the club itself, but also how the Rangers Academy have sold the move to Balde.

Rangers are clearly investing heavily in their youth and trying to be progressive with their approach to the development side. And it appears to be working.

Whilst Balde’s move hasn’t been confirmed yet, he won’t be the only Rangers youth attacker who’s highly rated across Europe.

Josh McPake has been reportedly attracting interest across the continent and appears to be close to the Rangers first team.
