Reported Rangers transfer target Jonson Clarke-Harris has been shortlisted for the EFL League One Player of the Season award.
Peterborough director of football Barry Fry claimed in March that Rangers were scouting Clarke-Harris [Peterborough Telegraph], while a Bristol Live report subsequently credited the Gers, Sheffield United, Bournemouth and West Brom with interest in the £5m-valued striker.
Clarke-Harris made a relatively slow start to his career in terms of goalscoring, but he’s certainly been making up for that recently.
He netted a respectable 13 League One goals for Bristol Rovers last season and following a reported £1m move to Posh in the summer, he’s bagged 29 already this time around, with 31 in all competitions.
His stunning form looks set to fire Darren Ferguson’s side to promotion and the striker could pick up an impressive individual accolade too.
Clarke-Harris is one of three players shortlisted for the League One Player of the Season award.
The other two players in contention are Hull City midfielder George Honeyman and Sunderland striker Charlie Wyke.
The reported Rangers target is back in action on Tuesday night against Doncaster Rovers and the Posh know that three points will be enough to book their spot in the Championship for next season.
Clarke-Harris is just one of several forwards the Gers have been linked with, though, and the club are reportedly close to agreeing personal terms with one of their other targets.
