The manager of Premier League side Sheffield United has claimed there has been “no interest” in midfielder and reported Rangers target John Lundstram.
Lundstram, 26, remains an important part of the Blades side but is currently in a contract stand-off with the club as his deal runs down ahead of it expiring in the summer.
Free to negotiate with other sides, Wilder revealed at the beginning of the week that no-one made a move for Lundstram in the January transfer window.
“No. There’s been no interest,” said Wilder [Yorkshire Live].
“I believed he will be here until the end of the season and that will be the case.
“Not really thought about it to be honest (keeping him in the summer).
“It’s been put to bed in terms of his situation and him getting his head down, which he is doing, and us involving him, which we are doing.
“I have not thought about that situation or that option.”
Lundstram was first linked with Rangers by the Athletic and the Ibrox side are mentioned alongside Premier League West Ham as one of the clubs that are interested by Yorkshire Live.
As it stands Lundstram remains open for contract offers but it’s not clear if Rangers will move for the player or if Lundstram will make his mind up before the end of the season.
However, manager Wilder is adamant the midfielder is still committed to the cause this season as Sheffield United try and get off the bottom of the Premier League.
“John’s a good character and there is no downside to him not giving anything less than 100 per cent,” said Wilder, back in September [Yorkshire Live].
“He won’t get in our team if he doesn’t, I won’t pick him. Supporters need to be comforted that, as always, I will do the right thing for the football club.
“I am not going to play a player who is not committed. I will make that decision.”
The midfielder was involved as Sheffield United recorded an impressive victory against title hopefuls Manchester United in a 2-1 win at Old Trafford.
