One-time reported Rangers target Graeme Shinnie is holding talks with a view to a move to English Championship outfit Derby County.
The Aberdeen captain is free to speak to other clubs with his contract expiring in the summer. The BBC is reporting that the Scotland international has travelled to Derby to speak to Frank Lampard.

Shinnie can make the trip as he is suspended for this weekend’s Scottish Cup semi-final between Aberdeen and Celtic.
Graeme Shinnie was linked with Rangers by the Express back in January. Rangers fans were largely split over the player’s signature. There were
arguments for moving for Shinnie and arguments against it.
The reported pursuit of Shinnie took another twist after the Bristol Post linked rivals Celtic with a move for the player. For many, this was good news for Rangers.
But the truth is, should a move to Derby materialise it prevents the stubborn midfielder playing for one of our rivals.

If he isn’t moving to Ibrox, then it’s best he doesn’t play for someone who can’t take points off us. There is absolutely no doubt he is one of Aberdeen’s best players.

Should he leave Pittodrie, Derek McInnes’ side is made considerably weaker by his departure. If he’s off to the Championship he also can’t impact on matches against Rangers. For Aberdeen or Celtic.
With a move for Graeme Shinnie looking like it’s off the table, could Rangers switch their attention to another Aberdeen midfielder? This talented young Scot is also eight years Shinnie’s junior.
