Rangers Europa League foes Red Star Belgrade are on an impressive win streak ahead of the Thursday evening clash and this should send a warning to the Gers.
The Serbia side warmed up well for the match with a 5-0 league thrashing over Novi Pazar, in which dangerman Aleksandar Katai hit a hattrick and keeps the side’s title ambitions firmly on track.

This was the club’s seventh consecutive victory in the league and cup, which surely sends a message to the Ibrox side that they pose a dangerous threat
with 15 goals scored and only one conceded, the Ibrox side’s backline will have to be at its very best to withstand the Red Star attacking threat.
Red Star Belgrade are in stunning form ahead of the Europa League clash with Rangers
Although Rangers haven’t exactly been free-scoring as of late, minus the away victory against Borussia Dortmund, there appears to be a very pragmatic approach to matches recently.
Two successive 1-0 wins in the league were overshadowed by poor performances and this could have a negative effect when the Serbian champions come to Ibrox.
Although that said, we have been excellent in Europe, with the aggregate win over Dortmund showing exactly how the side can play when the confidence is high.
Make no bones about it, Red Star will pose a different threat and the onus will be on Giovanni van Bronckhorst to get the tactics spot on ahead of the tie.
The best possible outcome will be to take a lead across to Belgrade and not get too intimidated by the boisterous atmosphere at the Rajko Mitic stadium.

Whatever happens, the two-legged affair will be filled with drama and plenty of goals, let’s just hope we can score more.
