Rangers’ classes of 2004 & 2005 have travelled to the Middle East this month to take part in the Zayed International Youth Cup.
Fresh from the U17s stunning victory in the ALKASS Cup, the Academy has obviously left a big impression in the region. Just like the U17s did on Rangers fans.
Rangers join Al Wahda, Al Jazeera, Al Ain, Partizan Belgrade and MSK Zilina in the tournament which takes place in the Abu Dhabi. It will see all the teams face each other once in a league format, with whoever finishes top crowned champions of the Zayed International Youth Cup.

The tournament will take place between the 24th of March and the 1st of April and is yet another example of Rangers’ creative approach to youth development.
The youngsters will get the chance to show their talents on a bigger stage and bring home more international silverware.
The previous ALKASS Cup campaign in Doha captured the minds of supporters back home, with plenty tuning in to cheer on the young Gers. A hattrick from youth prospect Nathan Young-Coombes was one of the highlights of the tournament.

The U17s team took home that title and this group will be hoping to do the same with this one. Fans will be keeping a close eye on their progress.

The tournament also symbolises Rangers increasing presence in the Middle East. More than just give these boys exposure at an international level, it increases Rangers reputation in the area and positively impacts the club’s brand globally.
It’s a major win win and let’s hope the young Gers can take the trophy back to Glasgow.
