Rangers youngster James Maxwell has been linked with Premier League side Leeds Utd after his recent impressive performances for Ayr Utd in the Championship [MailonSunday, page 141].
The 20-year-old is in high demand as there are a few teams who are looking to sign the left-back following a productive loan spell so far this season.

Dunfermline manager John Hughes has stated that he wants to sign the Rangers defender [TheCourier] and Partick Thistle have also been linked with the player [DailyRecord] in the last few weeks.
Although the links with Leeds seem to be the most surprising, it shows just how much the player has improved recently.
He has featured in 19 matches this season for the Championship side, contributing two goals and three assists [SofaScore], a solid return for a left-back, although he has been playing further upfield for the club.
The recent interest from Leeds is further proof that Maxwell’s future will likely end up away from Ibrox, which is a shame as he is an excellent prospect.
With Barisic not being at his best this season and Calvin Bassey deputising at centre back, there was a real opportunity for a young player to come in and provide adequate cover at left-back.
There seems to be a real surplus of talent coming through the academy for Rangers at the moment. The likes of Leon King and Stephen Kelly have already been included in a matchday squad under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
With Tony Weston and Alex Lowry amongst the names standing out in the B team, the future is looking bright with regards to youth talent at the club.

Hopefully, the new era under Giovanni van Bronckhorst can allow some to shine in the first team.
In other news, a Rangers loanee featured for his adopted side during the Fife derby.
