Rangers working to “commit” duo as Premier League exit reports intensify

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has reiterated that discussions are ongoing to get Glen Kamara to “commit” himself to the club amid interest from a host of Premier League sides.

The Ibrox gaffer has also claimed that Connor Goldson’s situation is the same, suggesting Daily Record reports he has signed a new contract at the club could be premature.

Finnish international Kamara has been one of Rangers’ top performers this season and there has been much speculation regarding his future going into next season.

The 25-year-old ex-Dundee midfielder has been routinely linked with the Ibrox exit door throughout his Gers tenure but the most recent of which concerned a report in the Daily Mail.

That report claims that Brighton, Southampton, Burnley and Leeds United are all interested in his services whilst another report claims Arsenal have one eye on the midfielder [GiveMeSport].

Contracted to Ibrox until 2023, there’s been much talk about a contract extension this season – not least from Glen himself – and Gerrard reiterated that talks were ongoing as he spoke following his side’s 2-0 Scottish Cup victory over Celtic.

“Glen’s someone who we’re still trying to and talking to commit here because he’s a big player for us, Connor Goldson is the same,” said Gerrard.

“There’s a lot of players we’re working with to try and get them tied up because they’re so important to the team moving forward.”

Here’s more on those Connor Goldson reports as a leading national daily made the claim that the £18m-rated stopper is set to follow in the footsteps of an Ibrox teammate.
