Rangers won’t hand over evidence of wrongdoing committed by the SPFL unless it is to an independent inquiry, according to the Athletic.
The report claims that Rangers will not submit the information to the Hampden body after the club called for the suspension of chief executive Neil Doncaster and legal advisor Rod McKenzie.
Rangers claims the evidence is “an example of an undemocratic culture which has existed within the SPFL for far too long” [Rangers].
Rangers want Doncaster and McKenzie suspended for foul play with regards the voting on SPFL proposals to finish the league season.
ICT chief executive Scot Gardiner revealed details of a WhatsApp chat between themselves and representatives from Partick Thistle and Dundee.
Gardiner claims Dundee, alongside Partick Thistle, gave ICT assurances they were voting no and had voted no to the prosposals [Sportsound].
Dundee’s vote is originally alleged to have never reached the SPFL but there remains confusion over why that is.
All of this came as the SPFL warned clubs over “further weeks, and possibly months or financial hardship” if they didn’t vote in their favour but are now willing to wait 28 days for Dundee to submit.
Scot Gardiner’s comments on the WhatsApps from Dundee secretary Eric Drysdale also appeared to ratify leaked WhatsApp messages that confirmed Dundee were reconsidering their position.
