Rangers remain hopeful of a deal for Ryan Kent and “will make another move” for the player should Leeds fail to sign him by tomorrow’s 5 pm deadline.
That’s according to Bruce Archer of the Daily Express, who believes the Ibrox club are keeping an eye on developments at Anfield.
The Express report also claims that “Kent himself would rather play at Ibrox next season”.
The latest report comes amid claims that Leeds United have opened talks for the tricky winger [Daily Record], who Liverpool have reiterated that they want to sell and not loan this season.
Leeds also have a reported extra £7m in their transfer kitty after the sale of Kemar Roofe to Belgian outfit Anderlecht.
Sky Sports have claimed that Liverpool want £7m for the winger, whilst Athletic journalist James Pearce have suggested the fee is closer to £10m.
There has yet to be any suggestion of an official approach by Leeds United but it is believed Marcelo Bielsa is a big fan of the player.
Where Rangers fans might find a bit of hope in this deal is in Kent’s reported desire to come to the club and the fact no fee has been agreed between Leeds and Liverpool.
Should Kent fail to leave Anfield by tomorrow at 5pm, are Liverpool really likely to keep him floating about the club’s development side?
Or is all of this just offering false hope to the Rangers faithful?
