Rangers v Motherwell at Ibrox offers the opportunity for the Govan club to amend Thursday’s disappointing result.

It says a lot about how far Rangers have come that a draw in Moscow was seen as an opportunity lost. With the game there for the taking, Rangers missed a real chance to take advantage.

Any frustration they have from that match must be transferred on to Motherwell. Rangers need a performance. We’ve been struggling over the last month or so and, although we have edged out results, haven’t looked quite as convincing.

I expect Gerrard to change it a little at the back. In comes Halliday for Flanagan and Worrall for Katic.

In the defensive midfield position Lassana Coulibaly drops out for Ryan Jack. The Malian midfielder has been ruled out due to a family bereavement.

Up front, I expect Gerrard to continue with the impressive Middleton but offer Eros Grezda the chance to impress from the start in Rangers v Motherwell.

He could yet play a huge role in what needs to be a big performance from the Gers.
