Rangers v Hamilton is a match that should generally be routine for the Gers.
But there’s a small pressure building that threatens to burst if we don’t pick up all three points. Rangers have scored once in the last 270 minutes and we’re badly in need of a pick-me-up.
Especially after crashing out of Europe on Thursday. It was a memorable run from Rangers but you get the feeling we might’ve perhaps taken more from the group.
This is a big match, make no mistake. They all are from here on in. We have five games left to play until the winter break and we simply must stay within touching distance of Celtic.
And Gerrard knows it. We’ll be full strength tomorrow and gunning for Hamilton. I expect Gerrard to keep the same backline he used in Vienna. McAuley has looked shaky at times but Rangers need a consistency in order to improve.
In midfield, I expect McCrorie to drop out. The impressive Ryan Jack will play the holding role, with Coulibaly and Arfield in front of him.
On the right wing Daniel Candeias should come back into the team following his suspension. Alfredo Morelos is suspended so we’ll be using Kyle Lafferty, and I expect Eros Grezda to start on the left. The flying winger needs minutes, and this game is a chance for them.
Is this the team to get three points against Hamilton?
