Never has a round of Betfred Cup semi finals been shrouded in more controversy. But after all the dust has settled, Rangers v Aberdeen will kick off at Hampden Park at 4:30pm this afternoon.
By that time the other Betfred Cup semi result will have already been settled at Murrayfield. That’s between Hearts and Celtic, just in case you’ve been living under a rock for the last month or so.
Scheduling s***shows, stuttering on stadiums, Hall of Fame Dinners and laughable ticket fiascos form a pretty meaty backdrop to both games too.

For Rangers, there’s been a much-debated issue up front going into this one. Both the talismanic Alfredo Morelos and Rangers backup striker Kyle Lafferty are out of the tie. The striking berth is up for grabs, and it’s likely to go to an unconventional striker.
For Aberdeen, they’ll be looking to make their first League Cup final since 2017. But Rangers fans are going to be very up for this one given the ticket backdrop.
Not that it’ll be easy. Aberdeen represent a solid threat for Rangers and this will be a tough game.

Rangers fans have also dubbed this match the Gazza Semi Final and have reportedly planned a display for their hero.
There’s fewer teams such a display would be more suitable against than Aberdeen. Gazza scored a hat-trick against them to secure 8 in a row for Rangers.
Here’s our predicted XI. We predict Gerrard will stick with Rangers Cup Keeper Foderingham, and give Eros Grezda the chance to be a Hampden Hero.
