Rangers U18s defeat Dundee United 2-1 in pre-season friendly

The Rangers U18s showed their resilience to come from behind and beat Dundee United as the young Bears continue their preparations for the new season.
The Ibrox youths defeated their Tannadice equivalents 2-1 in a pre-season friendly at the Hummel Training Centre today.
Two goals in quick succession towards the end of the first half from Adam Devine and Matty Yates secured the victory for Rangers.

Archie Meekison had David McCallum’s side behind at half-time after he slotted past Gers goalie Nicky Hogarth after 14 minutes.
Rangers had begun to work their way into the match and were back on level terms just over 20 minutes later.
Adam Devine cut inside in the 37th minute and hit a divine strike from long-range which beat the Dundee United goalkeeper.
Matty Yates then completed the scoring not long after with the youngster calmly finishing to put the Gers ahead.
Despite six changes at half time the match was to remain at the same scoreline, with Rangers coming our victorious.
Yates continued his good form after scoring a double in the recent Rangers U18s 9-1 victory over Huddersfield.

This match might not have been quite as comprehensive a victory but it will stand the Ibrox club in good stead going into the new season.

This campaign the Rangers development side will take part in the UEFA Youth League for the first time after winning the U18s league last season.
