Rangers manager Michael Beale has said that Robby McCrorie will not leave the Gers in the summer transfer window.

Beale has been quoted as saying by Rangers Review that Rangers goalkeeper McCrorie has got high standards.

The Rangers boss has made it clear that he does not plan to let go of the 25-year-old Scotsman at the end of the season.

Beale has noted that goalkeeper Allan McGregor will leave Rangers because he is out of contract at Ibrox at the end of the season.

The Rangers manager made the comments after his side’s win against Celtic at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon.

Rangers beat Celtic 3-0 at home.

Michael Beale on Robby McCrorie’s Rangers future

Beale said when asked if McCrorie is part of his plans going forward: “100% he is. We’re going to lose one keeper this summer because one is out of contract.

“We’re not in the job of signing bad ones. you’ve had Allan and Jon, two Scottish internationals and Robby who has been in the group.

“He’s been injured for four out of the six or seven months I’ve been here. He always knew he was getting an opportunity and all he can do is keep playing as he did today.

“I think that’s four clean sheets on the bounce as a Rangers first-team keeper. that’s not a bad record to upkeep for him, he’s set a high standard for himself.”

Ibrox stay

We know that Rangers want to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.

Jack Butland has been strongly linked with a move to Ibrox.

Even if Rangers sign Butland, they need another quality goalkeeper in the squad for next season and beyond.

And McCrorie, who is under contract at Rangers until the summer of 2025, is that player.

Now, of course, the 25-year-old will want to play regularly for Rangers, but the former Scottish Premiership champions need to keep the Scotsman and convince him that he will get his chances if he plays well.
