Rangers manager Philippe Clement watched the Ibrox club’s B team upstage their first-team counterparts with rampant 4-1 SPFL Trust Trophy victory.

The Belgian boss was in situ alongside several of the club’s managerial hierarchy to cast a glance over a number of emerging players in the Ibrox youth team.

Goals from Romanian playmaker Ianis Hagi and returning Brazilian striker Danilo were cause for celebrations, whilst Zak Lovelace earned himself a place in the upcoming matchday squads.

But there was another youngster on display at the Forthbank Stadium in Stirling who might well have given the Rangers manager something to think about.

Paul Nsio was ‘MOTM in Rangers B rout’

Paul Nsio joined Rangers from London outfit Lambeth Tigers two years ago and joined up with the Rangers first-team in this summer’s pre-season training camp in the Netherlands.

The 18-year-old has made steady progress in the Rangers academy over the last two years and was the unlikely shining light as Clement & co watched the B team romp.

The young midfielder played a key role in assisting Danilo’s goal which fired Rangers 2-0 in front, with Paul Nsio also providing the assist for for Findlay Curtis’s second of the game.

Nsio’s impressive also display caught the eye of Ibrox blogger Four Lads Had a Dream, so we’re sure Philippe Clement would’ve also been taking notes on the midfielder’s development.

Claiming that Paul Nsio was the Man of the Match on a positive night for Rangers, Four Lads claims that the teenager has ‘a lot of potential’.

‘Anything can happen’ as Rangers talent eyes breakthrough

Paul Nsio also spoke to RangersTV come full-time after an inspired display against Stenhousemuir in the SPFL Trust Trophy.

The double-assist star spoke about Stenhousemuir’s physicality in the game and his own performance.

With Nsio eyeing a breakthrough at Rangers, the midfielder was pleased to show Philippe Clement ‘what he’s capable of’ in the game.

“Every time I have space around me I just like to do my own thing and yeah man, it’s just what I done,” said Nsio.

“So I’m happy we happy won. Obviously credit to Finlay (Curtis) for the two goals and Danilo.

“Their number six was huge and obviously I had Curtis next to me, obviously he’s a bit smaller, so I had to dominate around the ball.

“Every time he had it I had to physically get him off. I am happy about my physical side, I need to work on it a little bit but yeah, delighted about it.

“Anything can happen. When they’re watching you just got to the best on the pitch and show them what you’re capable of.

“Maybe in the next couple of months you might get a chance, so I’m pleased.”
