The Steven Gerrard factor has been a huge pull in getting signings over the line for Rangers, and that’s no different in the case of Filip Helander.
The big Swede has just signed on at Ibrox, much to the delight of the club’s fans. But there’s little doubt that Steven Gerrard played a huge role in getting the 6ft4 defender to Glasgow.
Helander himself quoted the lure of playing under the England and Liverpool legend as one of the main reasons he joined Rangers.

“The opportunity to work with a manager like Steven Gerrard was an easy decision to make,” said Filip Helander, as quoted by Rangers.co.uk.
“I am delighted to be joining Rangers, it’s a special club with tremendous fans and a unique history.
“I’ve come here to battle for every point and to win trophies and I’m looking forward to meeting my teammates and getting started.”
The big Swede is the Rangers boss’ eighth signing of an eventful window where Rangers have bolstered their squad with real quality.
Gerrard too was instrumental in securing the likes of Sheyi Ojo and Joe Aribo, players who will be central to our success this season.

Aribo especially [Scottish Sun].
Signing Steven Gerrard on as manager has undoubtedly made Rangers a much more attractive proposition to players from across the world.
And you suspect there could still be more to come before the season kicks off.
